St. Anne Catholic Church, Ibara - Abeokuta dedicates church.

It was a day of excitement for the entire parish community of St. Anne Catholic Church, Ibara - Abeokuta as they dedicate their church to God on August 13, 2016. Dedication of a church in the Catholic Church is an ancient tradition in which the building and all the paraphernalia of worship are set-apart for divine worship and devotion.

Speaking in his homily at the event, the Lord Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Abeokuta, the Most Rev. Dr. Peter Odetoyinbo warned members of the church against defiling the "resting place of God" through ungodly actions. He further reiterated that the people, who are indeed the church must guard against all forms of defilements in their families. He lamented the risen cases of pedophilia in the society told which he described as a very disturbing defilement.

The climax of the event were the placement of the relic of Saint John XIII beneath the altar of the church and the anointing of the altar by the Bishop, and the walls of the church.

The event had in attendance, eminent dignitaries which includes the Alake of Egbaland, the Olubara of Ibaraland, Knights and Ladies, the Vice Chancellor of the St. Augustine Catholic University, Epe, among a host of others.

Dear MOB readers - Be Inspired!

There was a blind girl.

She had a loving boyfriend, who was always there for her. The girl hated herself and everyone around, just because she was blind. Her boyfriend asked her to marry him. But she said: "If I could only see the world, I would marry you".

One day someone had donated a pair of eyes to this girl and after an operation she could see everything. But when her loving boyfriend came to her and asked: "Will you marry me now?", she just looked at him with disdain, as she could see now that he was blind too.

Thus she refuse to marry him. He walked away full of sadness and later wrote a short letter of few words to her:

"Just take care of my eyes darling".
